Yesterday made me glad I only have one more Wednesday. It wasn't bad to start with. But at about 8:00 the grocery truck showed up and he had deli and frozen on him too. So first there was a pallet too far forwards to get the dock plate down and we had to break the pallet apart and get it out of there by hand. The plate still wouldn't go down because of the one next to it so we had the driver pull forwards and then I dropped it on the edge of the truck and he backed up so it would slide all the way into place. The driver sat out in his truck and made me offload by myself. This was bad enough but finally just as I was getting to frozen (which in a truck that will hold 24-26 pallet spaces and our frozen load only being 6 pallets...) he finally came in and tried to "help" by pushing. Any driver who "helps" by pushing pallets for me earns my instant hatred. He was pushing too hard as all drivers do and I had to keep pushing against him to get it to slow down to a decent speed. He finally went and got a jack to start actually helping. Then he was just stupid about it. The backroom was so stuffed up that there was one narrow walk-through from door to door. So what does he do? He starts offloading and setting pallets in that walk-through for me to pick up. What an idiot! And then I took a pallet to the freezer and he got another one and started coming down the freezer hallway behind me. I told him, "You'll have to go back, I won't be able to get out if we're both down here." So what does this moron ask me? He says, "Want me to drop it right here?" Did you not just hear me!? I told him, "No, there isn't room to turn around here." If two jacks won't fit side-by-side for me to get past you and get out then what makes you think there's room for me to turn my jack around?
Meanwhile they had been calling me to check and thankfully Chad grabbed it for me.
We also had to do returns and he was an idiot on that too. Didn't know how to do any part of it. I had to tell him that plastic pallets are marked as plastic, had to tell him the difference between chep and wood. Then he marked some plastic pallets as slips, and one was an iGPS at that. Then at the end we had a pallet of totes and three more stacks. So the idiot asks me if we wanted to put the totes in the middle and then lock it in with two of the stacks. How did that make any sense of any kind to his infantile mind? I told him "No, we have to get everything on."
He's the kind of stupid you just go, "Wow... they not only gave you a regular driver's license but a cdl as well?"
They kept calling me up to check, and I had to scramble to get stuff done. And Zhaun had all this stuff for me to do and I did get most of it done, the stuff that had to be done that day. I'm just thankful Dustin came in three hours early. (due to his need for sleep to get up early for his vacation today) He had found a bunch of yogurt that was expired and had me take care of it. You know, all that yogurt dated the 31st that he had found on the 31st could have been marked down. Either he was doing it as a last ditch effort to get me in trouble or he really is that stupid.
