I was selling tons of milk yesterday. Bret even made me get on the phone with Paula about it but there wasn't anything she could do. I have to wonder. Is Bret right and we were selling milk like that because of the cereal deal? We've had cereal deals in the past and no one's ever taken notice before. (you buy so much cereal and you get free milk) I really hope we were just selling milk like that because of St. Drunkies Day. I really don't want to run out tomorrow.
I hate not knowing. We have Sunny Delight 89 cents on the mega event. So I ordered in a fair amount because I didn't know if they would plus me out or not or if Zhaun was going to have an end for it. Yesterday we did not get a plus out but I still didn't know about a display so I ordered in a little less than before. It's also not selling hugely right now and I don't know if it's going to pick up or not.
I was rotating milk, which means moving the gallons around shelf to shelf and this older woman stood there watching me, she actually looked right at me a few times. She clearly saw that I was moving these milks down to a lower shelf. So instead of taking the milk that I was moving before I moved it, therefore helping me, she decided to take one of the ones I'd already moved down. What makes people do these things? Is it their goal in life to hurt others as much as possible? Do they get some sort of satisfaction from it? What do they think? "Mwahaha, I'm such a big person, look at me, I stomped the life out of that poor girl." Are people in general just generally evil? I've come to know that as fact, it's a lesson that's been driven into me time and time again. Either that or the general level of intelligence is down to just about nothing.
Then I was ordering by the yogurt and someone deemed it necessary to put shove lite yogurt in with the blended. Thanks! Guess who had to fix that?
Someone else put a container of frozen juice in the egg case. I'm so happy it was one of the plastic containers. The cardboard ones get soggy and sometimes break and leak all over when idiots put them in the cooler instead of the freezer.
I forgot to say that last Friday me and Mike in meat department had an argument about taking empty pallets out of their cooler. He was all, "So, Barb, why don't you take the empty pallets out when you bring the load in?" Um, because it's not my job. Because they're your pallets. Because out of the 12 pallets average we get off the deli/dairy/meat load only 4 of them are mine and the rest are yours. Because I shouldn't have to get your cooler ready for you. Because there's how many men back there? None, apparently.
I didn't budge on that and yesterday I gave them about a 15 minute warning to get their cooler ready for the load and they didn't so I dumped their freight anywhere I had room. Wanda later apologized to me for the pigs she works with.
I like Wanda. I don't know how she can stand to work in meat dept. but she does. She had long hair but had to cut some of it a month or so ago and she came to me and was about crying over it and said she was talking to me about it cause I'd understand being a long hair myself. I offered due sympathy and I actually meant it too because it's hard having to cut some of it. I asked her why she did it and she said because she's getting older, which is understandable. As a person ages they tend to cut their hair to make it easier to deal with. I think she had other reasons too, might have been damage. Her ends might have been getting straggly.
Bret's fun. He was leaving, he had his coat on and he was shopping and he was on the back aisle talking with Julie and suddenly I hear, "I wish we could glue these [display] tables to the floor! I've had to fix them 18 times today!" and he proceeded to go over and move the table half an inch over to make it line up straight with the back wall.
Speaking of this, Bonnie's clock is crooked. I have to make Tim go up there and fix it. Usually I can just hit the clock with a broom and it straightens. But there's some wire or other hanging down and pushing at it to keep it crooked. So I have to make Tim go up there on a ladder and fix it for me. Probably Sunday I'll do that, it'll be easiest that day.
I stayed 40 minutes yesterday.
